Outcome of Our 1st Dahomey's Sketches collection The kimono "The One Who Laugh" is a mixed piece. 


Description 

  • Long kimono. Wide sleeves 
  • Round neck. Back closure with slot and wooden button.
  • 2 rectangular flap pockets on the chest
  • Mid-long sleeves Bomba style 
  • Trouer fabric belt
  • Made of 100% Beninese cotton, vegetable tint in turmeric
  • The mannequin measures 1.77m and carries the size M 
  • Take your usual size for an oversized style, the size below for an adjusted wear. 

The history of the print 

The first V.O workshop print is inspired by the very widespread tattoos style in the Nagô people*.
* The Nagô people live on the right bank of the Niger river, straddling Benin and Nigeria. From the 12th century, the Nagô-Yoruba, who came from the city of Ifé (near the current Lagos), infiltrated the current Benin and created kingdoms there.

We exclusively use textiles produced and woven locally, our parts are made in Cotonou in Slow Manufacturing, that is to say in small quantities or as controls in order to produce the right amount without mess or on production.
